Overworked, stressed, and under-rested? Or haven’t been hydrating enough? We’ve all been there, you think you can handle the workload but eventually it’s just too much. Your puffy eyes and dark circles sort of giving it away.
As we’re talking about eyes and their health, it should be mentioned that there are many eye problems that can occur, both internal and external. Puffy eyes and dark circles are quite common these days because most people who work in front of computers or smartphones tend to forget maintaining healthy eating schedule and sleeping patterns. Hypertensive patients often complain about puffy eyes because of the increased blood pressure in the general area of the head. In such cases, it is really important to maintain a healthy diet and a proper fitness routine.
Premature Aging
Eyebags, wrinkles and a dark circle or two are nothing to bother about if they are merely the signs of aging. Human skin becomes velvety smooth and hair turns white with age happens very gradually taking decades before any signs of its presence can be felt in our daily life. For a lot of people however, eye bags are more than the sign of aging. They can be due to lack of sleep, exposure to sun and pollutants, diet high in fats, stress balls throughout the office work desk-jobs, certain medication including allergy meds and last but not least lack of self-care.
Kansa wand can the Kansa wand help you with premature aging?
Improper Eating
Puffy eyes and dark circles are those rings around your eyes that make you look tired and have a bad time. Dark Circles can be caused by an imbalance between Kapha, Pitta and Vata. Depending on the predominant doshas, it can range from a slight swelling to very dark colors.
Improper eating can also cause puffy eyes. Overconsumption of foods that are not favorable to your dosha constitution or body type for a very long time, eating on the go without awareness, eating cold, frozen, stale foods lacking in nutrition, or skipping meals, can all find a way to reflect in the form of dark circles. All these foods lack prana or life force that brings down the Ojas or vitality in you. According to Ayurveda, you are essentially what you consume. So if you want your face to have a natural glow and liveliness, then your food needs to be fresh, warm, and full of prana too, except in case of fresh fruits or fruit juices.
Can Kansa wand help you with dosha imbalance?
If you have never heard of Kansa wands, then you are in for a treat. Kansa wands are Ayurvedic tools for balancing your energy body (i.e., chakras and marmas) and improving the health of your skin. You may be wondering why your skin is mentioned, but there is a strong connection between the condition of our skin and our overall health.
Imbalanced doshas can cause a number of symptoms such as fatigue, skin disorders and many others. A Kansa wand is worn on your third eye chakra and throughout the day zaps away at your toxins. Its energy flows down to the base chakra where it sends out healing energy through your feet. Your thoughts are left alone as it turns daily drudgery into energy!
Indigestion
Puffy eyes, also referred to as “bags under the eyes”, signal weak digestion, fluid retention, and accumulation of toxins, according to Ayurveda.
If you suffer from puffy eyes, then you could be having indigestion. Your eyes are the first place to show signs of indigestion. This is because the digestive organs produce toxins, which accumulate in your body and cause inflammation or swelling anywhere. If your digestion is faulty and if you eat food that is difficult to digest then it can lead to bloating and puffiness around the eyes in turn.
Can Kansa wand help treat an enraged agni?
In Ayurveda, the importance of a healthy Agni is emphasized, as it is linked to a number of positive outcomes, including a long and healthy life, increased vitality, improved physical and mental health, and a radiant appearance.
Nourishing Agni - the "digestive fire": Massaging with Ayurvedic oils can stimulate and nourishes internal organs. It can attune the organ functioning and optimize the body’s ability to flush out toxins by improving circulation. By revitalizing and energizing the viscera, it can induce a broad sense of warmth, stability, comfort, and confidence.
Stress
Puffy eyes are the facial sign of stress, usually the most common culprit being lack of enough sleep. Eyebags are the first indicators of the toll stress is taking on your body. Since the skin under the eyes is most delicate and thin, lack of rest and mental stress first starts showing in this area.
Can Kansa wand help alleviate stress?
The body may not be a machine that we can repair or replace. The body is a highly sophisticated, integrated system. So when one thing goes wrong with it, be it a marma point or any nerve pathway, the rest of the machine goes out of balance. The first step to holistic health is therefore balancing ourselves by relieving stress and muscle tensions. Traditional systems like Ayurveda use tools such as Kansa wands and other holistic massage tools to trigger marma points to achieve this.
These tools are quite similar to acupressure but in some ways they are different such as they don't need the assistance of another person to apply pressure.
Over centuries, the practice of Ayurvedic wellness has proven to result in a more rejuvenated body, mind and spirit, thus nurturing mindfulness and stronger immunity.
